Abstract

Critical analysis is considered one of the main subjects of literary studies. Through critical analysis, we can identify the strengths and weaknesses of a literary work. The principles of criticism tell us that a critic should have no personal connection with the creator of the work, but rather focus on the work itself—examining its merits and flaws without personal bias, for the sake of the development and elevation of literature.

This research examines the literary critiques by Candidate Academician Muhammad Ibrahim Ataee on both Afghan and foreign fictional works. Professor Ataee's critiques of Afghan literary works have been published in Kabul magazine, (Kabul Majala)  while his critiques of international fictional works—which include reviews of approximately one hundred stories—have been published by Zerai journal (Zerai Jareda) during 1360s.

The professor has analyzed fictional works by international authors, including English, Russian, French, American, and others—whether they are novels or short stories. Examining the quantitative and qualitative aspects of these critiques is the main focus of my research.

First, the critiques of Mr. Ataee and other Afghan writers have been discussed. Then, in the analysis and findings section, the core essence of the late Ataee's critiques has been explored. Finally, a conclusion has been drawn, and some of the key features of Professor Ataee's critiques have been briefly highlighted.
