Saaduddin Shpoon and Contemporary Pashto Prose: A Stylistic Analysis

Abstract

Saaduddin Shpoon is one of the prominent and influential writers and poets of contemporary Pashto literature who has played an important role in enriching the Pashto language and literature through intellectual depth, linguistic innovation, and literary commitment. He has produced valuable works in both poetry and prose and established a distinct literary identity. This article examines the characteristics of his literary style based on a descriptive-analytical and library-based method. The findings show that his prose reflects artistic maturity, linguistic subtlety, and intellectual depth. His simple yet effective expression, natural fluency, and imagery-based style are key features of his writing. Moreover, his style is grounded in realism, critical awareness, and social commitment, representing an important example of stylistic transformation in contemporary Pashto literature.
