Abstract

Language is one of the most important cognitive abilities of human beings and is closely associated with the neural structures and cognitive processes of the brain. This study aims to scientifically examine the relationship between language and the brain, identify the neural foundations of language, clarify the interaction between language and cognition, and investigate the role of the brain in performing linguistic activities. The article examines the language processing process, the functions of the brain’s language centers, the cognitive effects of bilingualism and multilingualism, and major language disorders. The study employs a descriptive method and a library-based research design, with data collected and analyzed from reliable scholarly works and research articles. The findings indicate that language is an integral part of the brain’s cognitive system and that linguistic activities require the coordinated functioning of various neural regions and networks. Furthermore, bilingualism and multilingualism play an important role in strengthening cognitive flexibility and executive control.
